Land transportation
The Riparian Expressway and Yangzhou-Liyang Expressway, which are passed through Jintan city, had been put into operation in Octorber, 2007. The Riparian Expressway from east to west, directly links Jintan’s proper and the JEDZ, the distance to the expressway’s Jintan Dong Entrance is only 5 km. The Yangzhou-Liyang Expressway from north to south, integrates the Riparian, Shanghai-Nanjing, Nanjing-Nantong Expressways etc. as a whole. The Shanghai-Nanjing expressway and Beijing-Shanghai railway close to Jintan’s northern side, the distance to Changzhou railway station is 35 km. The No.239, No.240, No.241 and the No.340 Provincial highways all pass through Jintan city. The No.240, No.340 provincial highways pass through the JEDZ. The roads in JEDZ are densely covered and free from worry. The urban buses dirctly link with each large enterprise in the JEDZ.

Air transportation
The distance to Nangjing Lukou International Airport is only 60km. The airport is the one of passenger and freight transportation, it has 85 domestic and abroad air routes of 54 cities(regions) , early or late opened the passenger routes to the country such as Korea, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Germany and the US, and the region of Hongkong and Macao, as well as the international, freight routes to Korea, Singapore, the US, Thailand and the Netherlands. The distance to the Pudong International Airport is 180 km, the Riparian and Shanghai-Nanjing expressway directly link with Pudong International Airport, which is a first grade comprehensive international airport in the Pacific and Asian region and the largest airport facing to 21th century in our country; the distance to Changzhou Benniu Airport is only 35 km, the airport, early or late opened the domestic routes to Beijing,Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Haikou, Harbin, Shenyang, Xiamen, Xi’an and Changsha.

Water transportation
The Yangtze River closes to Jintan’s northern side, along with the river, there are Nanjing,Zhenjiang,Changzhou and Zhangjiagang Port,they enter into sea linking with all continents, there are more than 10 to the US, Japan, Hongkong, Europe and Southeast Asia. The distance of JEDZ to Changzhou’s Changjiang Port, Yangshan International deepwater port is 50km and 230km respectively. Changzhou’s Changjiang port is a domestic first-grade one, it has two wharfs of 10,000-tonnage(general and container terminal, petrochemical terminal), and several wharfs 1000-tonnage. Yangshan International Deepwater Port is an oriental large port in Northeast Asia and the 21th century, its annual handling capacity of 220,000 standard containers, may anchor the fifth and the sixth generation container ship.
Danyang-Jintan Canal in Jintan and JEDZ directly links with the Yangtze River and the Taihu Lake, may navigate the cargo ship of 500-1000-tonnage throughout the year
