The civilized history of thousands of years, makes Jintan pregnant with beauty and productive of talent. From Three Kingdoms(220-280) to the end of QingDynasty(1644-1911), Jintan has more than hundred poets, scholars, writers and statesmen,the famous DaiXulun, Chu Guangxi and Duan Yucai are among them, the modern great mathematician Hua Luogeng is the Jintan people’s pride.

“Peak appears over the clouds, mist rises from the valley”---China’s Taoist shrine Mountain Maoshan, densely wooded and magnificient, the Taoist’s three palaces, five yards and caves, springs as well as pools, these natural landscapes, make people immediately generate the feeling of “flowers flying Buddhist place three thousand miles, the person being in jasper peak twelve levels”. The Yaohu lake of “the cool moon hanging over the puddles as the hook, looking at the Jiangnan demeanors from the mirror”, and many rivers, reed marshes, the dense waternet consisting of them, make people appreciate the infinte charm and the mood of “a land of fish and rice”.

Nowaday, Jintan’s undertakings of science techlonogy and education are developed, every year, nearly thousand students enter into universities and colleges to study, go to all over the country and all over the world, thrive out infinite artistic talent. Jintan owns more than 15,000 technicians and professionals of all kinds of majors; there are three sci-tech R&D institutes, three vocational education schools, four high middle schools. Among them, the students in the vocational education schools reach to more than 5,000, the opened majors are machinery, electronics, chemical industry, computer, financial accounting and liberal arts etc. all facing Jintan to employ. Every year, there are about 2,000 Jintan students to graduate in universities and colleges outside Jintan, among them, several postgraduates, 500 undergraduates, 1,500 students of university and college; the city has 120,000 laborers, among them, 50,000 laborers are trained. Hence, Jintan has a laborer team and sci-tech R&D team of having knowledge, knowing major and high quality.
